Norman Blake has inspired special signature guitars from several makers, and Martin had to get in on the action. Norman's clout at Martin is evident in the way he got them to step outside the comfort zone with this one....where to start? A long scale, 12 fret, wide neck 000 with a 00 soundhole, specially-designed 1/4" scalloped bracing...you get the idea. This one's special. Definitely a fingerstyle guitar at heart, the spacing gives you plenty of room to dig in. The tone is as unique as the specs on the guitar would suggest, but it's safe to say that it pays homage to the vintage Martin instruments from which it takes many of its design elements and it gives a full bass response and plenty of volume that's well-suited to a number of acoustic music styles. A couple top dings and a spot of flaked finish on the lower bout of the bass side keep this one from being mint, but if you're looking for a cool Martin model that's been played in but is still in excellent condition, here's your guitar!
