Collings guitars have a well-deserved reputation for flawless workmanship and the kind of tone that discerning players appreciate. This beautiful like-new 2005 OM-2H is a fine example of the Collings approach to building. It was lovingly played by the original owner until he elected to trade it in towards a custom Rockbridge (he would have preferred to trade another guitar, but I had my eye on this one!). Other than very light pick scratches on the pickguard, you'd never know that this guitar had been touched since it left the factory. The tone is dark and thick across the mids, with beautiful round trebles and enough bass presence to give a nice balance. It excels as a fingerstyle instrument, though it can certainly hold up to aggressive flatpicking should the need arise. Collings guitars are built to last and this one's not yet opened up to reach its full potential - buy it now and you can be the one to enjoy that great breaking-in process! |
