As the Collings company has grown in popularity and prestige, they've continued to expand their model offerings. There are many great Collings dreads out there, but I'm developing a special fondness for the DS series...rounded shoulders, 12 frets to the body, wide neck, and a tone that's distinct from the standard Collings sound. Like the DS-2HA that came through a while back, this guitar seems to have a fuller bass response than the typical Collings, with a warmth and richness to the tone from the Sitka top and 12 fret configuration. In very good to excellent condition with minor playwear and case wear. A finish scratch running across the side of the guitar at the waist was buffed out but is still visible at certain angles. The original hard case is missing part of one latch, but still does a great job of cradling and protecting the guitar. Quality woods, excellent workmanship, and the fun 12 fret slothead design for comfortably less than $3k....enough said.
